ユニタール南スーダン奨学プログラムは、２０１５年から２０１９年までの過去５回のサイクルにおいて、多くの学びを得ました。
本研修では、南スーダン若手から中堅の専門家を対象に、南スーダンの地域のニーズや起業背景に合わせたデザインの作成目的に、イラク国内青年層の知識、スキル、姿勢の成長に向けた方法に焦点を与える１２ヶ月の研修を行っています。
南スーダンの国内人口の３分の２は３０歳未満であり、若者の９０％は正規の雇用につけない状態でいます。多くの南スーダン人が生活のサポートをコミュニティーや家族から得ている状態で、職を得ることは最優先の課題となっています。また、南スーダンは、長い戦乱を経験したことにより、経済が不安定な状況にあります。加えて、政府の支出の多くが軍部に充てられている中、治安の維持が社会の最重要課題となっています。このような南スーダンの状況を考慮し、ユニタール南スーダン奨学プログラムは、南スーダンの青年層のより良い未来のために必要とされるプロジェクトマネジメント、リーダーシップ、そしてビジネススキルを得る機会を研修生へ提供します。

2021年3月10日・広島 ー 今年度の国連ユニタール広島事務所/国連ユニタール持続可能な繁栄局による核軍縮・不拡散に関する研修が3月2日に始まりました。核兵器禁止条約の発効や新戦略兵器削減条約（新START）の延長など新たな兆しも芽生える一方、新型コロナにより世界的な交渉の場自体が狭まり、核軍縮に関する議論が停滞するなど課題も深刻です。交渉技術を学ぶニーズは引き続き高く、今回新たにオンラインのコースを開発いたしました。ウェビナーや「EdApp」を活用したモバイルでの講習、交渉を実践的に学ぶ小グループでの学びなどを予定しており、包括的核実験禁止条約機関（CTBTO）コンサルティングアドバイザーのタリク・ラウフ氏をはじめとする専門家や同事務所が拠点を置く広島の方々の協力を得て練り上げられたものです。
なかでも、昨年100周年を迎えた世界的な自動車メーカー・マツダ株式会社（本社：広島県安芸郡府中町）には、被爆から復興、躍進へと歩む道のりについて貴重な写真やエピソードをご提供いただき、地域の人々やひとつひとつの企業の尽力が広島の再建を成したことを、研修生が肌で感じ取れる内容になっています。
