2021年3月18日・広島 - 近年では政治、文化及び社会経済分野における女性の活躍の場と範囲が広がりを見せていますが、国際女性デーは、20世紀の始めに女性労働者が労働条件の改善を求めたデモが起源だと言われています。ロシアでは3月8日は女性の日として1917年に公式な休日として制定されました。国連が正式に国際女性デーを制定したのは1977年。それ以降3月8日は世界的に女性の生き方を考え、活躍を称える日となりました。この100年間で働く女性は飛躍的に増え、役割も多様化しています。しかしながら、ジェンダー平等に関する課題は山積みです。
