2020年10月24日、ホンジュラス共和国の批准により核兵器禁止条約 (TPNW) の批准国が50か国となり、90日後の2021年1月22日に条約が発効されることとなった。同条約は、2017年に加盟国の過半数を上回る約130の国と地域が賛成し、ニューヨークの国連本部で採択されたものである。
