2021年2月4日に開催された呉ロータリークラブ国際奉仕委員会主催の例会で、国連ユニタール広島事務所・持続可能な繁栄局の隈元美穂子局長が講演を行った。約70名のロータリークラブ会員と来賓を対象に、新型コロナウイルスの危機からの「より良い復興（Build Back Better）」を遂げる必要があるとメッセージを伝えた。
