At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Describe vulnerabilities and impact of conflict on women;
- Identify inequalities intensified through violent conflict;
- Describe the different roles of women during conflict;
- Reflect on how women in conflict cope with their challenging situation;
- Outline the main international legal instruments relating to women in conflict settings;
- Discuss the role of women and their unique perspectives in peacebuilding;
- Identify the challenges that constitute a barrier to women’s participation in peacebuilding;
- Suggest strategies to overcome these challenges building on the experiences and lessons learned from women’s peacebuilding initiatives globally;
- Critically analyze the impact of women`s involvement and contribution as leaders to post- conflict stabilization;
- Examine the challenges faced by women leaders in peacebuilding and development;
- Identify the strategies used to overcome these challenges;
- Analyze a specific context through a gender lens;
- Design a strategy to foster women’s participation and inclusion in peacebuilding and leadership, building on good practices and lessons learned.
