Background

The event will take place on Thursday, November 11th (times 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM).

This workshop is the second session of the Fall 2024 Columbia Law School training series.

This workshop will take place in Hybrid format, in person from UNHQ for all those with a valid UN ID and online for those without a UN ID.

UNITAR will not issue UN ID's for the participants.

Event objectives

Including women in negotiations and other peacemaking processes has been recognized as being critically important to many of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This interactive workshop will focus on understanding the importance of gender equality in negotiations, the barriers that currently prevent women from fully participating in negotiations, and how to make endemic changes at organizational levels to augment women’s participation. Participants will also learn tools they can use to self-advocate, as well as to act as an ally to women in the diplomatic arena.

Additional information

Only people with a valid UN pass will be able to attend in person.
