The UN Principles for Responsible Investment aims to incorporate ESG issues into mainstream investment decision-making and ownership practices. Institutions are expected to give appropriate consideration to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. While many organizations have already developed programs, standards, and mechanisms for ESG implementation, reporting and monitoring, many others are in the early stages of the ESG process. Therefore, sharing knowledge and experiences, building capacity, and networking around ESG can benefit experts and organizations planning to embark on ESG.
The purpose of this monthly speaker series is to provide a platform for organizations implementing ESG to share their experiences and lessons learned with other professionals, researchers, and organizations. The series will focus on the latest trends and developments in ESG in practice in different industries and organizations.
CIFAL York also aims to mobilize York University capacities in ESG and develop some ESG based training and education. In particular CIFAL York is partnering with other organizations and stakeholders at regional, provincial, national, and international levels to achieve this and create new and innovative training around ESG based on leading interdisciplinary research from all relevant fields.
