Background

The Green Helmets project aims to recover and protect nature, taking into account the SDG 15. The project includes a virtual classroom (http://loscascosverdes.org), the selection and funding of ten micro-projects in the Andalusia region over the next 12 months and the planting of 90,000 seedlings and seeds in the area affected by the forest fires in Sierra Bermeja. Since its launch three months ago, the Green Helmets environmental education initiative has trained a total of 2,000 students from 41 Andalusian schools, who had the opportunity to learn about environmental tools and practices.

 

Event objectives

To visit the Red Cross Summer Camp, which is hosting training activities in the framework of the Green Helmets project, and to present the Green Helmets environmental education initiative to the general public

 

Content and Structure

CIFAL Malaga visited the facilities of the Red Cross Summer Camp, where workshops and training to young people on environmental tools and practices are being held In the framework of the Green Helmets initiative. Through a press conference, the director of CIFAL Malaga, Julio Andrade, explained the progress of the project.
