The constant threat of life and horrific sights and sounds of conflict take their toll on soldiers, psychologically as well as physically. The conflict in Mali is no exception. UNITAR contributes to improving the safety and security of members of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), by conducting a comprehensive assessment of medical and paramedical services available to FAMa across Mali. Our approach is conceived as a dynamic participatory process that involves FAMa leadership and personnel as well as representatives from the donor country (Germany MOD) in all its phases.
