30 January 2024, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity will hold the “Digital Champions” forum on 20-21 February 2024 in Warsaw as the final session of the digital reskilling training programme for Ukrainian women evacuees in Poland. More than 40 top-performing programme participants will be invited to join the forum, where they will discuss and present data analytics, cybersecurity, or digital graphics and web design.

29 January 2024, Nairobi, Kenya – UNITAR held a mid-term review of its training programme “Developing Essential Digital Skills for Women and Youth in Africa” on 15 and 16 January 2024 in Nairobi. The event brought together ecosystem and industry experts, government officials and partners to share industry and market insights, and mentor and advise the programme participants to optimize their learning journeys.

UNITAR Marks International Day of Education

24 January 2024, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity, together with UNITAR Association, will hold the public forum “UNITAR Nuclear Disarmament and Sustainable Peace” on 10 February 2024 (10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. JST) at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Memorial Hall. The event seeks to foster the public’s understanding of current geopolitical disputes and nuclear disarmament and encourage participants to consider how to build sustainable peace.

23 January 2024, Geneva, Switzerland- In an effort to advance individuals' careers, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Empower School of Health have joined forces to unveil an innovative Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Health. As the global landscape continues to evolve, leveraging digital technologies in healthcare becomes imperative, and this newly launched Diploma is poised to empower professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital health frontier.

The linkages between trade, food security and nutrition are complex and a priority in the agricultural trade agenda. In order to enhance policy and decision makers’ understanding of these linkages and its implications for policy design and implementation, the UNITAR Division for Prosperity and FAO developed the e-learning course “Comercio, Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición”.

12 January 2024, New York, USA – On 13-14 December 2023, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), New York Office and the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco to the United Nations hosted their “Elevating Delegates through Workshops in Artificial Intelligence and Diplomacy” training on Wednesday 13, and Thursday 14, December 2023. This training is part of the Strategic Mastery Series and was attended in person by 16 participants from 12 countries.

In October 2021, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) jointly launched its first Arabic edition of the e-Learning course on 'Trade and Food Security'.

January 2024 - In a collaborative endeavour spanning from December 2020 to February 2023, the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) joined forces with the Directorate-General for Growth within the Ministry of Finance in Cyprus and the DG Reform of the European Commission to execute a project generously funded by the European Commission, aptly titled "Implementation and Mainstreaming of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the National Policy Framework" in Cyprus.
