The event brought together leading experts in climate resilience, hydrology, sanitation, and water governance to explore the intersections between urban infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, and biodiversity protection.

As the President of the National Breastfeeding Commission of Costa Rica, for Dr. Ruiz Valera, participation in the Regional Forum “The Best Start for Life” The Magic Drop, co-hosted by the Office of the First Lady and Government of El Salvador, highlighted the importance of tracking and recording lactation rooms in Costa Rica, as the country lacked comprehensive data despite existing laws. Following her participation in the forum, the Commission proposed a reform to assign a specific office for evaluating and approving these rooms. This initiative aims to ensure better compliance and support for breastfeeding mothers in workplaces and public areas.

The "Road Data Management System App - OKOA MAISHA" project aimed to streamline incident data collection and improve road safety through technology and awareness initiatives in Tanzania. The project was designed to address critical road safety challenges by leveraging mobile technology for real-time data collection and analysis. This approach was intended to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of traffic management and accident response.

This is the first programme on North America's West Coast to receive UNITAR-CIFAL accreditation for delivering the UN sustainable development goals (SDGS).

15 April 2025, Victoria, Canada - UNITAR, in partnership with the University of Victoria (UVic), Canada, successfully concluded its third year of the Co-operative Education Programme (Co-op), a professional development learning pathway. The Co-op continues to lead nationally in experiential learning, with this initiative launched in partnership with CIFAL Victoria—a UNITAR-affiliated centre. This international programme serves as a vehicle through which UVic students can acquire valuable work experience. Through this partnership, students can also participate in initiatives that are aligned with and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
