20 September, 2018, Curitiba, Brazil – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Curitiba (CIFAL Curitiba) jointly with the Federation of Industries of the State of Parana (FIEP) System and Ecovia hosted the sixth edition of the Conference on Transit and Transformation, bringing together approximately 200 participants from the public and private sectors.

United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) organized a workshop titled “Climate Change and the Paris Agreement: Challenges and Expectations” conducted by Professor Narinder Kakar, the Permanent Observer for the United Nations mandated University for Peace, and Mr. Santiago Villalpando, the Chief of the Treaty Section of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs. Professor Kakar also serves as Director and Adjunct Professor on UN Environmental Diplomacy Programme at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law of Pace University. The workshop began with a few opening remarks on the importance of the Paris Agreement by Mr. Pelayo Alvarez, who also thanked Professor Kakar and Mr. Villalpando for all their efforts in preparation for the workshop. He then gave participants a brief summary of what to expect from the workshop.

9 February 2017, Geneva. Switzerland - UNITAR hosted the second edition of the Dialogue on Faith, Peacebuilding & Development, to discuss how to leverage faith as an instrument of international harmony. The event was a unique dialogue that comprised two panels with six ambassadors and several scholars and faith leaders. Held at the Emirates Room of the Palais des Nations, it was attended by United Nations staff and diplomats, as well as by media, observers, students and activists from civil society organizations.

24 April 2016, Jeju, Republic of Korea – CIFAL Jeju convened twenty-two government officials (central, state and local), NGO workers and private company representatives from fourteen different countries in the Asia-Pacific region for a four-day workshop on "Green Energy and Sustainable City Planning." CIFAL Jeju, in collaboration with Green Technology Center (GTC), International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE) and UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC), held the event from 21 to 24 March 2016 at International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju).
