On 11 – 12 June 2019 Kampala, Uganda - The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) together with UNITAR and UN Statistics Division in collaboration with UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) held a national StaTact workshop in Kampala, Uganda. This workshop was initiated to review selected challenges related to the implementation of the Extension of the UBOS Strategic Plan for Statistics 2018 – 2020 in its pre-final year and train participants on the use of tactical approach and StaTact in their work.

11 July 2019, New York City, United States – The United Nations Institute of Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO) hosted a training with delegates from the Egyptian Diplomatic Academy in the Mission of Egypt to the United Nations. The training ran from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations, in light of the ongoing High-Level Political Forum. The training was delivered by H.E. Dr. Ian Botnaru, Director of the General Assembly and ECOSOC Affairs Division, and Dr. Angel Angelov, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria.

10 July 2019, New York City, United States – United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO) has held a morning briefing session with 15 delegates from the Egyptian Diplomatic Institute visiting New York during the High-Level Political Forum. The session was held in the conference room F in the United Nations headquarter between the head of office of UNITAR, H.E. Mr. Marco Suazo and Dr. Sameh Aboul-Enein, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director of the Egyptian Institute for Diplomatic Studies.

Launch of UN SDG:Learn at 2019 HLPF

7 April 2019, New York, United States - Following the Report of the Secretary-General (E.2019/81), the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) Headquarters and the New York office started preparations for delivering the report to the United Nations Member States, and consultations in order to produce the legislative response from the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations Member States.

5 June, 2019, Geneva and Paris. UNITAR and Danone launch an innovative e-learning course on Sustainable Diet to shift mindsets and foster better choices for the health of people and the planet.

3 May 2019, Nadi, Fiji - Following its application by 16 countries, including Caribbean Small Island Developing States, StaTact has been successfully introduced to SIDS coutnries in the Asia-Pacific region during regional workshops that ran from 23 April to 3 May 2019 in Sydney, Australia, and Nadi, Fiji.

3-4 April 2019, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – UNITAR and the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid (CIFAL Madrid) in collaboration with the Traffic and Emergency Response Association (Asociación de Rescate en Tráfico y Emergencias – ARTE), the Dominican Automobile Club (Automóvil Club Dominicano – ACD), and with the support of Fundación Smart Baby – JOIE conducted the training titled “Child Road Safety and Post-Crash Response”.

31 March 2019, Quito, Ecuador- The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Quito (CIFAL Quito) jointly with the Consortium of Provincial Autonomous Governments of Ecuador (CONGOPE) hosted the dialogue “Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities” on March 8th.

26-28 March 2019, Merida, Mexico – UNITAR and the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Merida (CIFAL Merida) in collaboration with the Secretary of Public Safety of the State of Yucatan and the Municipality of Merida, with the support of Diageo hosted a three-day in-depth training workshop for law enforcement officers from the Dominican Republic to strengthen their capacities to implement breathalyzer campaigns in the Dominican Republic.
