05 June 2023, New York, USA - As the first in-person Elections Officer Workshop after the pandemic, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research made a remarkable start by hosting the two-day (24-25 May) presentations of the workshop titled, "Elections to UN Organs: Workshop for Election Officers." This highly anticipated event achieved great success in enhancing the understanding of election procedures and processes among the dedicated participating officers. The workshop garnered 90 participants who were effectively equipped with invaluable tools to identify opportunities for candidatures, empowering them to make informed decisions in their roles. Furthermore, the workshop provided election officers with insightful knowledge of successful campaigning strategies, enabling them to contribute to fair and transparent electoral processes.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, UNITAR has released a series of beautiful commemorative stamps that reflect its rich legacy, global impact, and unwavering commitment to fostering knowledge and expertise worldwide. This stamp edition is the second UNITAR stamp after the first one issued in 1969 by the UN Postal Service.
