28 October 2025, Geneva, Switzerland- In collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), UNITAR and its global network of affiliated International Training Centres for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) hosted the “Words into Action" Learning Webinar Series comprising eight online sessions and one in-person session taking place between 1 and 23 October 2025.

Miami, Florida, 28 October 2025 – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) Miami in close collaboration with UNITAR successfully concluded its Emergency Preparedness and Management Workshop at Florida International University (FIU) on 7-8 October 2025. The two-day intensive programme brought together a group of 35 airport professionals, emergency planners, and government officials from across the Caribbean and Southeastern United States to strengthen crisis response capabilities and operational resilience.

Singapore, 27 October 2025 – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) successfully concluded its fourth regional workshop of 2025 on "Future-Proofing Airport Development: Leveraging Technological Innovations for Enhanced Terminal Operations" in Singapore on 22-23 October 2025. The two-day programme brought together 65 airport professionals from across Asia-Pacific and Middle East to explore cutting-edge technologies transforming airport operations.

In an effort to tackle the global crisis of road traffic collisions, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) have officially launched the second phase of their worldwide initiative “Safe Mobility 4 All & 4 Life” (SM4A4L) for the Asia-Pacific region. This launch, which took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 7 to 8 October 2025, marks a milestone in the determination to reduce preventable deaths and injuries on the region’s roads.

22 October 2025, Bangkok, Thailand - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Bangkok (CIFAL Bangkok), an affiliated training centre of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), has announced the launch of a leadership training titled “Sustainable Leadership in Crisis”, to be held from 18 to 22 November 2025.

17 October 2025, Merida, Mexico – As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Merida (CIFAL Merida), an affiliated training centre of UNITAR, in coordination with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), hosted a workshop entitled “Education for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer”. The initiative aimed to encourage self-examination and promote timely health care among airport employees and service providers.

15 October 2025, Beirut, Lebanon - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Lebanon (CIFAL Lebanon), an affiliated training centre of UNITAR, is pleased to present a workshop titled “Strengthening Project Impact through Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)” on 26-28 November 2025.

New York, USA, 7-8 October 2025 - UNITAR joined forces with the Vision Zero Fleet Safety Forum 2025, hosted with the support of the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services and in collaboration with Together for Safer Roads. The Forum brought together leading stakeholders from public and private fleets, innovative safety technology companies, policy experts, and road safety advocates, as well as federal, state, and city agencies, non-profits, and universities, for the common goal of advancing road safety.

In 2024, CIFAL Płock achieved a major milestone with the launch of the Autosobriety Poland platform, a digital hub dedicated at promoting responsible driving behaviours and preventing alcohol-related road incidents. This platform provides a range of interactive resources, including educational materials, online training modules, and awareness campaigns designed to engage diverse audiences, from young drivers to professionals. By leveraging technology, the platform makes the programme more accessible and scalable, allowing more people across Poland to participate in road safety training. The platform also facilitates partnerships with schools, businesses, and community organizations, ensuring that road safety education is integrated into daily practices.
