In this spirit of innovation, UNITAR, in collaboration with York University and CIFAL York, convened the MotoAI Virtual Hackathon on 14–15 November 2025. This two-day event brought together participants from eight countries and across disciplines to enhance “MotoAI” - our AI-powered motorcycle safety platform - by developing new app features, public engagement strategies, and analytical models to strengthen road safety systems.

11 February 2026, Geneva, Switzerland - The Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and UNITAR hosted a significant convergence of faith and diplomacy: the 11th Annual Geneva Interfaith Dialogue within the historical halls of the Palais des Nations. This year’s meeting focused on the theme of "Strengthening Multilateralism in Times of Global Challenges". The event coincided with the global observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week, established by Resolution A/RES/65/5.
12 February 2026, Singapore - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) in Singapore, hosted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), organised the Green at Heart: Sustainability Infographics Challenge as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and youth engagement in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Limited awareness and understanding of Human Rights trigger a number of challenges, including discrimination, access to fair and independent justice, and conflicts. In this regard, fostering knowledge, skills, and attitudes in this field enables more inclusive, prosperous, resilient, and peaceful societies. As a contribution to this end, the Saudi Human Rights Commission, UNITAR, and Majmaah University developed and implemented the Expert in Human Rights Programme in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

09 February 2026, Geneva, Switzerland - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) have formalized a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 16 January 2026 at UNITAR Headquarters in Geneva. The agreement was signed by Ms Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of UNITAR, and Ms Anacláudia Rossbach, Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat.
