16 November 2020, Dakar, Senegal – To join the global activities during the World Day of Remembrance, UNITAR and the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) in Dakar, in partnership with the Municipality of Dakar, and with the support of Diageo inaugurated on 16 November 2020 the training course “High Visibility Enforcement Interventions: Law Enforcement to Reduce Road Traffic Crashes related to Drivers using Alcohol”.

9 November 2020, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR’s Road Safety Global Training Initiative successfully concluded its Learning Webinar Series on Management Practices for Safer Roads, reaching 895 participants from the public and private sectors, academia and NGOs from 89 countries around the globe.

5 November 2020, Port Harcourt, Nigeria - A total of 400 women selected from the four Ogoni Local Government Areas comprising of Eleme, Tai, Khana and Gokana in Rivers State, Nigeria have benefited from an Agribusiness Skill Training and Empowerment Programme which held from 19th July to 26th September 2020, organized by UNITAR in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria.

26 October 2020, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR and the Royal Automobile Club of Spain (RACE) renewed its three-year cooperation agreement to continue to build capacity through CIFAL Madrid - the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid.

28 September 2020, Jeju, South Korea- The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Jeju (CIFAL Jeju) successfully concluded a series of learning webinars on “The European Green Deal”. The webinars aimed to introduce the Green Deal policies at the national and local levels for countries transitioning to more environmentally sustainable options. The Green Deal policy package aims to promote new development models that tackle pressing issues around climate change.

23 September 2020, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR’s Division for People hosted the 4th session of the “Webinar Series Management Practices for Safer Roads” to kick-off Brazil’s National Road Safety Week and to raise awareness about practical interventions and best practices that contribute to improve road safety.
