Since 2019, UNITAR has partnered with the University of Stirling in Scotland to provide world-class and innovative masters programmes, producing 5 cohorts of students who have gone on to work in various sectors, such as, the United Nations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and private enterprises. In 2024, we were pleased to expand our Masters in Human Rights and Diplomacy, offering both an MSc and LL.M. for the program, creating greater flexibility for students.
In 2025, we are delighted to be further expanding our portfolio, offering a new Masters of Science in Gender and Diplomatic Practice.

Masters Programmes
MSc. or LL.M. in Human Rights and Diplomacy
Covering human rights law and politics, the history and philosophical foundations of UN human rights institutions, and offering hands-on training from seasoned UN professionals, this programme delves into both the theory and practice of human rights laws and politics. Taught by leading human rights researchers and welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds in politics, philosophy, sociology, law, and other related fields, this innovative course equips students for a career in the humanitarian and diplomatic sectors.

MSc. in Gender and Diplomatic Practice
This MSc Gender and Diplomatic Practice programme offers a distinctive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Students will engage with modules covering gender concepts and debates, the history and philosophical foundations of the UN system, and receive hands-on training from seasoned UN professionals. Key skills for diplomatic practice, such as negotiation, leadership, and impactful advocacy will complement the theoretical element of this programme, equipping students for careers within international relations and diplomacy.
