INTRODUCTION

UNITAR

In light of the current globalized and multi-cultural business world, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and Arrowad for Building Values (Arrowad International Group) have partnered to create a unique training programme on "Value-Based Leadership."

The Value-Based Leadership programme will offer participants an understanding of how the different value systems of individuals, society, and cultures affect values and culture within organizations, especially in today’s globalized and multicultural business world. The programme recognizes that sustainable organizational growth requires that its leaders ensure that the corporate vision, mission, and strategies are well-reflected in their values, and that the values of the organization’s stakeholders are also empowered and enhanced through a supportive work environment in alignment with the organization’s core values. Participants will be encouraged to embrace a dynamic ‘value-based leadership’ approach, centred on ‘core value connectors,’ which can be reflected in the policies, procedures, initiatives, and stakeholder engagements of their organization.

Over the span of ten (10) courses, participants will learn essential value-based leadership skills that will facilitate improved stakeholder management, leading to improved organizational functioning, employee satisfaction, and overall organizational success. Successful participants can be awarded a Value Leader Programme Award, a Value Officer Program Certificate, and a Value Leader Programme Diploma upon completion of the basic, intermediate, and advanced programme tracks, respectively.

The training programme (10 courses), will provide essential value-based leadership skills to staff of international, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organizations, diplomats, government officials, and private sector professionals. The programme is designed for, but not limited to, leaders and those in managerial positions in public, private, and non-profit sectors, with the aim of encouraging these individuals to embrace a dynamic and transformative value-culture leadership approach to be applied in their organizations’ policies and procedures, initiatives, and engagements.

AWARD LEVEL - 4 WEEKS

Award Level: 

In this course, participants will learn essential value-based leadership skills such as how to define values and their elements and how to align societal, cultural, and organizational values with personal values. Participants will also examine the role of values in ensuring employee commitment during organizational transformation; learn how to understand behavioural requirements in the workforce and their uses within workplace protocol through positive value-based behavioural enhancement tools; and how to create and manage a sustainable and value-based corporate culture.

Course duration: 4 weeks (10 gross learning hours)

Methodology: Online (self-study with guided hours, plus one instructor-led hybrid workshop)

Location: Web-based (online), plus one hybrid (online and face-to-face) workshop in either Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or Geneva, Switzerland (TBD).

In this course, participants will learn how to use ‘value-driven business process management’ to improve processes within organizations. Essential value-based leadership skills such as defining value-based process improvements and their uses in management ecosystems; how to establish value-driven business process management skills within their organizations; how to build value-driven capacity management into business operations; and how to use value-driven business process management to ensure good governance and effective resource allocation will be taught by experts. 

Course duration: 4 weeks (10 gross learning hours)

In this course, participants will learn essential value-based leadership skills such as how to create value metric methodology in alignment with organizational and employee values; how to create a value metric measurement program in alignment with prevailing data evaluation and cultural indicators; how to use value metric measurement data for enhanced project management; how to ensure effective review feedback to address organizational performance and brand equity; how to use a ‘value proposition model’ in the business; and how to design and implement a value metric profiling system with appropriate value-based evaluation mechanisms.
