In response to a request from the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, UNITAR tailored an iteration of the Women’s Leadership for Peace Programme to provide comprehensive personal and professional development for a cohort consisting of twelve female mid-level Ukrainian diplomats. The extensive five-day programme was meticulously designed, incorporating a diverse range of workshops with a dedicated focus on leadership within the realm of conflict resolution. To enrich these sessions, renowned guest speakers from pertinent organizations were invited to share their expertise, thereby contributing depth and valuable insights to the conversations. Throughout the programme, participants engaged in an in-depth exploration of critical topics, such as self-leadership, various leadership styles, project management strategies, negotiation techniques, the art of public speaking, strategic power approaches, decision-making in complex scenarios, and the nuanced aspects of peace leadership in both active conflict zones and post-conflict resolution contexts. The multifaceted nature of the programme aimed not only to impart knowledge but also to empower these diplomats with practical skills and a heightened awareness of their roles as leaders in the realm of international diplomacy.
