UNITAR is pleased to offer the Executive Diploma in Economics, Energy and Development Diplomacy, in cooperation with Université Paris-Saclay. This programme combines Université Paris-Saclay’s academic excellence in economics and development studies with UNITAR’s practical expertise in diplomacy and multilateral affairs. The programme is delivered in a blended format over one academic year, including online learning and in-person immersion in Paris and Geneva.

The programme aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of the interconnections between economic policy, energy systems, and international development, while providing direct insights into the functioning of the United Nations and global governance frameworks. Participants can expect to:

  • gain exposure to international and multilateral environments through immersive experiences in Paris and Geneva
  • build professional connections with experts from academia, international organizations, and the diplomatic community
  • benefit from tailored training sessions focused on diplomacy, negotiation, and career development
  • develop practical skills and strategic understanding to navigate entry points and career pathways within international organizations and global policy spaces

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees vary depending on funding status and country classification, based on the World Bank country categorization.

Full fee (with third-party funding):

  • High-income countries: €15,000
  • Middle-income countries: €13,000
  • Low-income countries: €11,000

Reduced fee (self-funded participants):

  • High-income countries: €11,000
  • Middle-income countries: €9,000
  • Low-income countries: €7,000

Université Paris-Saclay alumni fee:

  • €7,000

University registration fees (regulated fees):

  • €397 (VAT exempt)

Notes:

  • Tuition fees include academic instruction, supervision, digital learning resources, and the organization of immersion weeks.
  • Costs related to travel, accommodation, meals, and visa arrangements are not included and remain the responsibility of the participant.

Eligibility

Pre-studies:

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bac+4 or equivalent) validated

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3 or equivalent) combined with significant professional experience

English skills:

Fluent English is required, as all modules are delivered in English. Applicants must be able to actively participate in academic discussions, group work, and professional simulations. Proof of English proficiency may be requested where necessary.
