The objective of this initiative is to contribute to improving the safety and security of male and female members of the Malian Armed Forces – FAMa (prior, during and after deployment). Within their respective areas of specialization, UNITAR and partners will collaborate in the implementation of a series of activities that are clustered around three major tiers: rehabilitation of physical infrastructures; reinforcement of knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes of medical and paramedical personnel; awareness-raising of members of FAMa on the symptoms and consequences of trauma-related disorders. The beneficiaries of the project are the members (men and women) of the Malian Armed Forces and their families who will benefit from better support for trauma-related disorders. In order to reach the final beneficiaries, the project will directly target the staff of the psychiatric unit in Kati, Mali.
