2021年6月1日・広島 － 国連ユニタール持続可能な繫栄局は、2020年度の「架け橋に ー 南スーダン起業・プロジェクト企画プログラム」を6月1日に開始いたしました。日本政府の支援のもとで実施される本プログラムでは、南スーダンの様々な分野で活躍する若手75人が6か月間のオンライン研修によって、社会的起業のスキル、経営分析やプロジェクト立案計画などについて学びます。
南スーダンではインターネット環境が十分に整っておらず、研修生が携帯電話などの低容量のデータ環境でも学べるよう、成人向けのマイクロラーニングを取り入れた無料アプリEdAppを活用します。また、インターネット接続に必要な機材も用意しています。
7月に独立10周年を迎える南スーダンでは、内戦からの復興が徐々に進んでいます。しかしながら、国連開発計画（UNDP）発表の2020年人間開発指数（HDI）によると、南スーダンは対象国189か国のうち185位で、国民の91％が貧困ライン以下の生活を送っています。新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックが、これまでの前進をくつがえし、就職率や貧困を悪化させています。本プログラムは、若手の起業家育成を通じて、人々の生活や国の復興に貢献していきます。, 6か月間の研修期間には、大きく分けて2つの段階があります。第1段階では、研修生がそれぞれ自分の...
UNITAR’s research activities are focusing on knowledge systems and their practical applications. Taking into consideration capacity development requirements such activities allow the Institute to develop methodologies that are particularly relevant for lifelong learning. Research supports the Institute’s training activities through the provision of learning environments adapted to respond to the needs of adult learners, thus facilitating the increase, efficiency and outreach of the Institute’s capacity development activities.
2021年7月16日・広島 ― 400mハードル日本記録をもつ、元陸上選手の為末大さんが、国連ユニタール親善大使に就任しました。14日にオンラインで開催された記者会見で、「アジアの選手たちへのトレーニングを行いながら各国の選手の友好を広げる活動を行っていたので、ユニタールの活動に共感しました。ユニタールの活動をみなさんに知っていただきたい」と抱負を語りました。
為末さんは、スプリント種目の世界大会で日本人として初めてメダルを獲得し、シドニー・アテネ・北京と3度のオリンピックに日本代表として出場しました。2001年に男子400メートルハードルで日本記録を樹立され、2021年7月現在もその記録は破られていません。
広島市出身で、被爆三世でもあり、これまで様々な方法で世界中に平和や持続可能な社会のための対話を呼び掛けてもきました。現在は執筆活動や会社経営に取り組んでおり、新豊洲Brilliaランニングスタジアムの館長としてパラスポーツの推進にも尽力。東日本大震災発生後には積極的にスポーツ界に被災地支援を呼び掛けたほか、国際レベルのコーチが少ない発展途上国で、国際競技力向上の支援も行ってきました。
