30 July 2021, Geneva, Switzerland - A training programmes on microfinance and financial inclusion run jointly by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Division for Prosperity and the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) was initially aimed at a few hundred staff from banks and microfinance bodies in the Middle East and Africa. 2020年10月24日、ホンジュラス共和国の批准により核兵器禁止条約 (TPNW) の批准国が50か国となり、90日後の2021年１月22日に条約が発効されることとなった。同条約は、2017年に加盟国の過半数を上回る約130の国と地域が賛成し、ニューヨークの国連本部で採択されたものである。
1946年1月24日の第1回国連総会で採択された決議第1号である核兵器および大量破壊兵器の廃絶を求めた決議がようやく実現する。
