29 July 2022, New York, United States - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office held a session on Human Rights during the weekly training workshops for the 2022 President of the General Assembly Fellowship for HOPE (Harnessing Opportunities for Promoting Empowerment of Youth) — UNITAR Office in New York's flagship initiative. Fellowship workshops are held every Friday at the United Nations Headquarters and feature multiple distinguished high-level speakers from various branches of the United Nations.

Mr. Michel Doukeris, Chief Executive Officer of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) and Mr. Nikhil Seth, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), renewed the partnership agreement between both organizations to continue to improve road safety. They also agreed to develop initiatives focused on women empowerment and entrepreneurship; and promote sustainable water management practices.

17 June 2022, Bridgetown, Barbados – In the framework of the 10th IRF Caribbean Regional Congress “A Roadmap to a Safe and Resilient Road System” between 7 and 10 June 2022, UNITAR in collaboration with the International Road Federation and AB InBev offered a training workshop on "Management Practices for Safer Roads", and an executive session on “Diagnosing and Treating Road Injury Risk”. The Congress gathered more than 250 professionals from 32 countries, including 11 Ministers of Transport, and provided useful tools and learnings to regional challenges of road safety and climate-resilient infrastructure.

18 May 2022, Bangkok, Thailand – With the objective of increasing awareness of the consequences of drink driving, and contribute to change the attitudes of thousands of people towards drink driving by 2030, UNITAR and Diageo launched “Wrong Side of the Road”, which is an anti-drink driving learning experience that allows people to have a conversation with a real drink driver to help them understand the effects of alcohol, and the shame and stigma that comes with drink driving.

11 May 2022, Quito, Ecuador – Road traffic crashes claim 1.35 million lives each year and as many as 50 million more people are injured. They are the eight-leading cause of death across all age groups globally and the number one leading cause among young people aged between 5 and 29 years, costing governments approximately 3% of GDP and 5% in low- and middle-income countries (World Health Organization, WHO 2018).

3 May 2022, Mérida, México – In line with Sustainable Development Goal 3.6: "Halve the number of road traffic injuries and deaths", UNITAR’s Autosobriety Training Programme seeks to contribute to changes in drivers' attitudes and contribute to the reduction of alcohol-related road crashes. The programme is aimed at government authorities responsible for road safety, road users and drivers, universities, the media, private companies, among others.

21 April 2022, New York, United States (Virtual) – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York office, in partnership with the Columbia Law School Mediation Clinic, kickstarted last of the three-event Spring 2022 presentations of the Columbia Law School Series with the final session titled, “Columbia Law School Series- Amplify: Lead by Lifting Others”. Garnering 138 participants from around the world, the event successfully highlighted the benefits of elevating fellow colleagues in the workspace and the necessities of doing so. The goal of this final session in the 2022 Columbia Law School Series was to impart what amplification is, how to do it most effectively, and why amplification does more than simply elevating people's voices.
