3 April 2012, Seoul, South Korea – Assistant Secretary-General and UNITAR Executive Director, Carlos Lopes visited top officials of the Republic of Korea this week to pledge UNITAR’s support for building capacities of all countries in the area of Green Growth, thereby reinforcing Korea’s leading efforts in this field.
Through UNITAR's global “Green Dreams” campaign, its e-learning courses on Green Growth and International Environmental Governance, its global range of training workshops on green growth for local governments, and its rich and diverse contributions to the Rio +20 Process, UNITAR is seeking strengthened partnerships with the Government of Korea and other stakeholders to ensure a strong curriculum of training opportunities for developing countries on the theme of green growth.
The Executive Director's strategic meetings included discussions with the Presidential Committee on Green Growth, KOICA, and the Global Green Growth Institute, among others.
