20-24 June 2011, Geneva, Switzerland. On the occasion of the fifth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention (COP-5) in Geneva, Switzerland, 20 – 24 June 2011, UNITAR/ILO and the Secretariat of the Rotterdam Convention will hold a side event to brief delegates about the linkages between the international chemicals Conventions (such as the Rotterdam, Stockholm and Basel Conventions) and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Panelists representing governments, industry and IGOs will share practical experience of GHS implementation and discuss how the Conventions can make use of the GHS as a tool to increase chemical safety and assist Convention implementation. The event will take place on 23 June 2011.
