3 July 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – On 28 June 2023, UNITAR signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pasona Group Incorporated (Pasona Group) to contribute to the digital upskilling of women and youth. United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and UNITAR Executive Director Mr. Nikhil Seth and Pasona Group CEO Mr. Yasuyuki Nambu signed the MoU at a ceremony held in Tokyo, at the Pasona Group headquarters. Supporters and guests joined to celebrate the special occasion.
UNITAR and Pasona Group are discussing cooperation such as in designing and conducting training programmes in 24 African countries and for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
The fields of cooperation currently being discussed are (1) enhancing knowledge and skills for IT literacy, (2) holding workshops and seminars on digital upskilling and (3) supporting employment for those who complete the programmes.

Mr Seth also expressed his vision for the partnership,

With the Pasona Group, UNITAR will continue to support women and youth through training programmes, particularly in least-developed countries, conflict and post-conflict states and fragile states.
