UNITAR Offers Online Courses on Climate Change Diplomacy and on Mediation Skills This Fall
June 2016, Geneva, Switzerland - We are pleased to announce two upcoming online courses taking place this fall on Climate Change Diplomacy: Negotiating Effectively Under the UNFCCC and Mediation Skills.
The course on Climate Change Diplomacy blends modules on diplomacy with the development of substantive knowledge in the field of climate change in order to increase participants' awareness of the political structures that exist when addressing climate change issues. The course will take place online from 19 September 2016 to 13 November 2016.
The course on Mediation Skills aims at improving one’s mediation skills and strategies while also developing an understanding of the UN’s role in the mediation process. The course will take place online 26 September 2016 to 23 October 2016.
These courses target mid- to senior-level government officers in ministries preparing for and/or taking part in conferences in relation to climate change, mediation initiatives, or multilateral conferences as well as staff of intergovernmental / nongovernmental organizations. It also targets entry-level and mid-career diplomats working in a multilateral setting. Private sector specialists and students whose work or studies are related to this subject are also encouraged to apply.
