15 September 2022, New York USA, hybrid briefing – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research Office in New York (UNITAR NYO) and the Hospitality Committee for United Nations Delegations (HCUND) have successfully led a joint briefing at the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the United Nations that highlighted UNITAR NYO mission and work as well as the 77th General Assembly and 2023 Priorities.
The briefing started with Rev. Carol Shuttleworth presenting brief remarks about HCUND and the Diplomatic Spouse Career Group (DSCG). Then, Ms. Ashley Bernhard, Founder & CEO of Haven Hill and HCUND Advisory Council, introduced Mr. Marco Suazo, Head of the UNITAR New York Office and Dr. Laszlo Molnar, Associate Professor at New Jersey City University and UNITAR Consultant.
Mr. Marco Suazo explained the role of UNITAR NYO and presented the different types of offered courses including core and orientation courses, lecture and special series and e-learning. He also gave an overview of the various fellowships, programmes and workshops provided by his office in partnership with renowned institutions.
Dr. Laszlo Molnar gave an overview of the General Assembly and the priorities for 2023. He emphasized the importance of public awareness and education to better assess issues and find adequate strategies to mitigate them. He also encouraged cooperation for a successful continuation of the transformative process of the United Nations.
After a brief Q&A session, Ms. Ashley Bernhard closed the programme and thanked the speakers and also the Permanent Mission of Monaco for hosting this event at its premises.
