UNITAR Delivers a Training of Trainers Workshop to Members of the Commission of the African Union in Partnership With the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie

21-23 September 2016, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – As part of the customized training activities of UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme, a three-day workshop was organized in Addis Ababa to strengthen the training skills of trainers and future trainers.  

This workshop was held in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Ethiopia, the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and the Commission of the African Union. Twenty members of the Commission of the African Union benefited from the experience of Mr. Rabih El-Haddad, Manager of UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme, and learned techniques that will allow them to transmit their knowledge and know-how.

The three-day workshop emphasised the need to deliver effective presentation focused on preparation techniques, the delivery of memorable messages, and other useful communication skills.

At the end of the workshop, trainers from the Commission of the African Union were able to develop, structure and draft effective and persuasive presentations; learn techniques to better manage different target audiences; and recognize and take into account personal learning styles. After the workshop, all the participants said that they were likely to use the information acquired during the workshop and they will recommend it to their colleagues.
