UNITAR Delivers Successful Training Workshop for The Diplomatic School of Spain

22-23 February 2017, Madrid Spain- February 23, 2017 ended a two-day training workshop on Conference Diplomacy and Multilateral Negotiations with The Diplomatic School of Spain in Madrid. This training gathered 19 Spanish junior diplomats and was dedicated to enhancing decision-making and negotiation capacities within multilateral settings.

The 19 participants were briefed by Mr. Rabih El-Haddad, UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme Manager and H.E. Mr. Lars Tillfors, a former diplomat with long term experience in international relations as well as United Nations diplomacy.This first day of the workshop started with theory and was followed by providing a practical approach through  tailored simulation exercises which allowed participants to apply and practice their newly acquired skills.

All of the participants felt that they met the objectives of the course and would recommend this workshop to their colleagues. Moreover, they expressed their satisfaction and intention to use this new set of skills in their everyday work as diplomats.
