19 June 2023, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR, in collaboration with Open Geneva and the University of Geneva School of Economics, organize the upcoming international workshop on Economics of Information Security, WEIS 2023. The event will be held on 5-8 July at Campus Biotech, in Geneva.

WEIS 2023 will gather renowned experts, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from across the globe to delve into the critical issues at the intersection of economics and information security. This workshop aims to foster collaboration and shape strategies to safeguard economies in the digital age.

The conference programme will include scientific presentations, panel discussions, and a hackathon, providing a platform for participants to explore various aspects of economics and information security. Key topics of discussion will encompass cybersecurity, data privacy, cyber insurance, digital currencies, open source intelligence, digital sovereignty, and their impact on socio-economic systems.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with thought leaders who are driving innovation and transforming the global landscape.

UNITAR's selection as the co-host organization together with the University of Geneva reflects its commitment to knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and fostering international cooperation. By bringing together diverse perspectives, expertise, and experiences, UNITAR aims to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities arising from the complex relationship between economics and information security.
