15 March 2012, Antwerp, Belgium - A one-day seminar on ethics and social responsibility was held at the Antwerp's City Hall, in Belgium.
Organized by UNITAR through the Antwerp-ITCCO, the on-day seminar brought together 30 post-graduate students and professors from the 'Group T International Educating Classes (IEC)', a subsidiary of the Catholic University of Leuven.
The participants from 13 nationalities discussed some of the main challenges that our world is facing today, and brainstormed on the integration of ethics and social responsibility into education development projects.
Some of the topics covered included an overall introduction to the UN system, the role of UN Associations and Global Compact Local Networks in promoting the UN goals, the UN Global Compact principles, and some of the ethical issues addressed by international frameworks.
A strong interaction with the UN Association Flanders-Belgium as well as a keen interest to promote education and development with other UN Associations in the participants' countries could be observed.
