18 October 2012, Geneva, Switzerland - With the theme on “Building the Smart City and Industrial Development for Sustainable Urbanization”, Global City Informatization Forum 2012 will be held on Monday, 29 October 2012 in Shanghai, China.
The Global City Informatization Forum 2012 is organized by Shanghai Smart City Promotion Center, jointly hosted by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Shanghai Internet Economy Consulting Center (SIECC) with the support of Shanghai Municipal Government as well as Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of P.R. China.
Reflecting the theme of this year, two plenary sessions on “Planning and Technology Application in Smart Cities” and “Industries and Technologies in Smart Cities” will be held in the afternoon, with keynote speeches over Planning and Construction of Smart cities and applications in smart cities around the globe.
