The Local Development Programme (LDP) is launching a new session of its proven e-learning course Governance in Urban Sanitation, to be conducted from 12 April to 18 June 2010 (10 weeks). The course aims at enhancing the capacity of local decision-makers and sanitation professionals to make the most enlightened decisions and investments in the area of urban sanitation by providing analytical tools to understand the financial and institutional framework of the sector, taking into account the needs of urban poor communities.
The course is based on sound adult pedagogical principles including, among others, self-assessment activities, case study, peer-to-peer review and evaluation, and social elements. It is distributed in such a way to ensure the achievement of the learning objectives in a flexible manner, as participants can choose the learning pace that is the most adequate to them.
