27 November 2025, Madrid, Spain – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid, Spain (CIFAL Madrid), an affiliated training centre of UNITAR, has launched a new online course titled Safe and Sustainable Mobility. The course is designed to equip professionals with comprehensive knowledge and practical tools to advance safe, sustainable, and inclusive mobility worldwide. 

As cities continue to expand and mobility demands increase, the development of safe and sustainable transport systems has become a global priority. Through this new course, CIFAL Madrid aims to support professionals and institutions in strengthening their capacity to design, implement, and promote mobility solutions that protect lives, reduce environmental impact, and enhance the quality of urban life.

  • Duration: 50 hours (2 ECTS) 

  • Content: Five thematic blocks 

  • Certificate of Completion CIFAL - UNITAR  

The five thematic blocks address the fundamental principles of mobility and road safety; vehicle classifications and safety systems; behavioural risk factors and preventive driving; safe and inclusive urban mobility; strategic planning and mobility management; and the role of emerging and intelligent technologies in sustainable mobility. 

The course is intended for mobility practitioners, fleet managers, public-sector professionals, private-sector specialists, university students, and individuals interested in contributing to safer and more sustainable mobility systems. In doing so, the programme supports broader efforts to improve road safety, reduce environmental impact, and advance sustainable mobility at local, national, and global levels.
