The three-day workshop aimed at raising young people’s awareness about the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event brought together 46 undergraduate and graduate students from 19 different countries who shared their ideas and discussed how youth could contribute to SDGs achievement by 2030.
During the first of the workshop, participants visited the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Jeju Smart Farmers Incubating Center to learn how organizations and agencies are using ICT to meet the SDGs.
This workshop greatly contributed to raise awareness about the positive relationship between ICT and the SDGs. It also helped students to acquire new skills and abilities to make a positive impact on sustainable development in the future. Finally, attendees had the opportunity to present their own projects on how they plan to contribute to the advancement of the SDGs.
