26 February 2020, Dakar, Senegal - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Dakar (CIFAL Dakar) in collaboration with the Canadian Executive Service Organization are offering a series of 7 seminars on leadership and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with the aim of strengthening the capacities of professionals from the public and private sectors on the SDGs and their contribution to ensure peace and prosperity.
Reflecting on the importance of the SDGs, CIFAL Dakar successfully concluded the first Seminar Series on Leadership and Human Development gathering 150 professionals from central and local governments, private sector, NGOs, academia and the Armed Forces of Senegal.
A second round of the seminar series titled “Introduction to the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs” will take place on 17 March 2020 and it is expected to gather 150 professionals from governments, NGOs, capacity building institutions, civil society and private sector. In addition, 300 students are expected to be part of this initiative.
CIFAL Dakar envisions to roll out a total of 14 seminars and 6 courses in 2020 with the aim of disseminating SDGs-related knowledge to an estimate of 600 beneficiaries. Also, a collective presentation of certificates with the presence of high level official authorities in June will offer the opportunity to make visible the contribution UNITAR, through CIFAL Dakar, is making towards the promotion of SDGs in Northwestern Africa.
