26 March 2019, Curitiba, Brazil – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Curitiba (CIFAL Curitiba) jointly with SESI Parana, the Global Compact Network Brazil, and the Corporate Citizenship Council of Parana (CPCE) held a meeting aimed at promoting the inclusion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in business strategies. This event brought together 60 representatives from corporations in Brazil to learn about the SDGs and how to mainstream the Goals into their operations, while raising awareness about the United Nations Global Compact.
Recognizing the importance of the private sector to support and achieve the SDGs, CIFAL Curitiba, along with their partners, hosted the first meeting of the year in the city of Maringa, Brazil. This event featured the participation of important speakers such as Mr. Rui Brandt, General Director of CPCE, who gave the opening remarks. Fernanda Arimura, Head of Communications of the Global Compact Network Brazil, highlighted the importance of corporate sustainability and how to integrate the SDGs in business operations.
In addition, Mr. Rodrigo Zani Soares, Manager and Compliance of the FIEP System, talked about the commitment of the Federation of Industries of the State of Parana (FIEP) System towards corporate sustainability. Finally, Simoni Ziwich Bianchi, President of the Council Administration at A.Yoshii Institute, presented as a best practice the contributions and benefits of achieving the SDGs in this corporation.
In the upcoming months, this event will be replicated in Curitiba, Ponta Grossa, Londrina and Cascavel, Brazil.
