CIFAL Curitiba Organizes Workshop on Compliance and Integrity
18 October 2018, Curitiba, Brazil – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Curitiba (CIFAL Curitiba) jointly with the Management of Risks and Compliance Division of the FIEP System hosted a one-day-workshop on “Compliance and Integrity Programs” designed to promote and strengthen the implementation of integrity and anti-corruption programs.
Sustainable Development Goal # 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” encourage countries to secure accountable institutions at all levels. Corruption, bribery, theft and tax evasion cost some US $1.26 trillion for developing countries per year. Without a doubt, this loss could make a remarkable change in terms of improving living standards for those who are under the poverty threshold of $1.25 a day.
Anti-corruption Programs promote a safe and pro investing environment that attract not only foreign direct investment, but also local businesses. There is a link between corruption and political instability that distort the economy and the financial environment of a country.
This was precisely the main focus of the workshop which was carried out in Toledo, Francisco Beltrão, Ponta Grossa and Curitiba and it was targeted to government officials and private sector members. Maringá and Londrina, will host the next workshop in November.
