22 May 2026, Geneva, Switzerland – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is pleased to announce a call for applications for the “Pathway to Prosperity: Upskilling Selangor’s Professionals for a Digital Future (Cohort 3)” course.

This free training programme is designed to equip participants with job-ready skills in data centre management and artificial intelligence (AI), supporting employability and career advancement in a rapidly growing digital economy, particularly in Selangor, which serves as a key hub of Malaysia’s digital transformation, in line with national digital development and workforce upskilling priorities.  

Targeted at early- to mid-career professionals based in Selangor, the programme aims to strengthen local talent pipelines by providing practical knowledge, industry-relevant skills, culminating in a prestigious joint certification by UNITAR and Google. 

Course Content

The course will run from 8 June to 6 September 2026 and includes: 

  • Self-paced online learning modules (1–2 hours per week) 
  • Live webinars held on weekends (1–2 hours per week) 
  • A total of three days of in-person workshops at SHRDC, Seksyen 13, Selangor (15 August and 5-6 September 2026) 
  • Joint Certification awarded by UNITAR and Google upon successful completion 

Eligibility

As this is a fundamental-level course, no prior advanced technical background is required, making the course accessible to participants from diverse professional backgrounds who are motivated to upskill and reskill for the digital economy. 

Applications are open to individuals who meet the following criteria: 

  • Early- or mid-career professionals 
  • Currently based in Selangor, Malaysia 
  • Interested in pursuing or transitioning into a career related to data centres or AI 
  • Eligible for employed and unemployed applicants, including SME owners and business leaders
