CONSULTANT - iOS DEVELOPER
iOS application development
UNITAR Division for Peace groups together all programming in the fields of conflict prevention, peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding to provide the most comprehensive support to the promotion of peace, justice and strong institutions worldwide, thereby essentially advancing the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 16. In the view of promoting democratic governance and human rights, the Division focuses on offering innovative capacity-building and knowledge-management solutions for a broad range of personnel (including uniformed personnel, representatives of regional and international organisations, United Nations staff, women peacemakers, minority and indigenous peoples’ representatives) working towards sustaining peace, while ensuring that these activities meet the specific needs of conflict-affected and post-conflict countries.
The project “Strengthening Response Capacities of Medical and Para-Medical Personnel Deployed to UN Peace Operations” contributes to improving the performance of UN peace operations in increasingly complex and high-risk environments (ultimate outcome), by enhancing the physical and mental well-being of male and female military and police personnel deployed (intermediate outcomes). Ultimate and intermediate outcomes will be achieved through strengthening the knowledge, skills and behaviours of male and female medical and para-medical personnel (military and police personnel deployed to the top 5 high-risk UN peacekeeping operations) to address physical and psychological trauma in a gender-responsive manner.
The project is designed to last 1 year and will target gender-balanced groups of military and police medical and para-medical personnel in 8 African countries contributing military contingents and police units to the five-high risk missions: MINUSMA, MONUSCO, MINUSCA, UNMISS and UNAMID.
