20 February 2026, Chengdu, China – On 22 January 2026, UNITAR signed an agreement with Malvern College Chengdu to embark on a new partnership under the UNITAR Prosperity Alliance. The partnership will focus on advancing global competence, future-ready skills, and technology-enabled learning in Western China. 

The partnership will offer systematic training, international exchanges, and digital tools with the competencies needed to address global challenges. Under the new partnership, a new programme will be launched to cultivate visionary leadership and practical skills for an interconnected world.  

At the launch event, Ms. Jacqueline So, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Malvern College International, Asia Pacific Region, emphasized the partnership’s focus on skill development.

UNITAR Division for Prosperity outlined the initiative’s goal to equip participants with a global perspective and actionable skills through a blend of technology-enhanced curricula and practical projects. 

Plans for the partnership’s core initiatives include workshops on the Sustainable Development Goals, a structured global digital exchange and a dedicated technology platform for collaborative learning. It will also deliver leadership courses and applied projects that connect local engagement with global networks. Together, these efforts will foster innovative educational approaches to strengthen global competence.
