“Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Promoting Food Security and Economic Development in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon” is a training programme for aspiring and established entrepreneurs in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon who aspire to address urgent local and regional food insecurity through innovative solutions, including climate-smart agricultural and aquacultural practices.
Open to entrepreneurs, leaders, and business people from micro, small, and medium enterprises in the three countries, the programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and network they need to turn their ideas into a sustainable and scalable business model. It seeks to prepare them to address food insecurity, create jobs, and contribute to a resilient agricultural sector in the region.
The depth of knowledge we gained in areas like financial, market research and the investor mindset was truly invaluable. But what truly made the programme special was the opportunity to connect with a vibrant community of likeminded individuals, inspiring mentors, and insightful speakers, particularly on the topic of trauma management.
—Cendrella Antoun, UNITAR training alumnus (Lebanon)
The training is offered free of charge to participants, thanks to the generous financial support of the Government and People of Japan.
