This programme equips fashion students and professionals with practical skills to navigate the evolving intersection of fashion, diplomacy, ethics, sustainability, and innovation, combining online learning with an immersive experience in Milan. 

Programme objectives

UNITAR Online Module (self-paced)

  • Topic: “Cultural Diplomacy through Fashion: Building Bridges & Business”
  • Format: Video + quizzes + reflection task 

Ureka Online Case Studies

  • Balenciaga: Upcycled Couture & Sustainable Sneakers
  • Prada: Ocean Plastic Re-Nylon Initiative
  • Burberry: Circular Fashion & Carbon Neutrality 

Requirement: Participants must complete both prior to the in-person immersion. 

 

Day 1 (Monday): Introduction to Ethical Fashion
  • 10:00–12:00 | Ferrari Fashion School — Introduction to Ethical Fashion: Concepts, Principles & Global Context
  • 13:00–15:00 | Ureka — Cultural Identity, Inclusivity & Diplomacy in Fashion
  • 15:30–19:30 | Site Visit — Ethical fashion brand or artisan atelier 
Day 2 (Tuesday): Sustainability & Innovation
  • 10:00–12:00 | Ferrari Fashion School — Sustainable Materials, Textiles & Supply Chains
  • 13:00–15:00 | Ureka — Global Case Studies (Group analysis)
  • 15:30–19:30 | Site Visit — Sustainable textile lab or eco-factory 
Day 3 (Wednesday): Ethics in Design & Production
  • 10:00–12:00 | Ferrari Fashion School — Slow Fashion, Circularity & Design Ethics
  • 13:00–15:00 | Ureka — Cultural Diplomacy through Local Artisan Collaborations
  • 15:30–19:30 | Site Visit — Traditional craft studio or sustainable design hub 
Day 4 (Thursday): Brand Strategy & Storytelling
  • 10:00–12:00 | Ferrari Fashion School — Branding Ethical Fashion: Transparency, Authenticity & Storytelling
  • 13:00–15:00 | Ureka — Ethical Brand Building in Global Markets
  • 15:30–19:30 | Site Visit — Fashion house with sustainable branding strategy 
Day 5 (Friday): Ethics in Fashion Business
  • 10:00–12:00 | Ferrari Fashion School — Ethics in Sourcing, Manufacturing & Retailing
  • 13:00–15:00 | Ureka — Collaborations between Nations, Cultures & Fashion Businesses
  • 15:30–19:30 | Site Visit — Sustainable concept store or ethical fashion marketplace 
Day 6 (Saturday): Capstone Project Presentations
  • 10:00–16:00 | Ferrari Fashion School Auditorium
    • Group Project Showcase: “Workable Ethical Fashion Concept”
    • Certificates & Networking 
  • Format: Teams of 3–5 participants
  • Objective: Develop a practical, scalable ethical fashion concept or business model
  • Must address: Sustainability; Cultural relevance/diplomacy; Feasibility in current market conditions
  • Evaluation criteria: Innovation; Ethical integrity; Practicality; Presentation
