The primary purpose of UNITAR's Division for Multilateral Diplomacy Advisory Board is to provide strategic guidance and leadership, enabling the Division to fulfill its mandate and address the major multilateral challenges facing the United Nations. The Advisory Board also offers recommendations and critical analysis of the Division’s activities to ensure that global capacity-building and knowledge management needs are met. Additionally, it promotes and advocates for the Division’s activities among all stakeholders, including donors, UN Member States, and academic and research institutions.
The Advisory Board serves as a forum for presenting and discussing the Division’s planned and potential activities, exchanging information, identifying beneficiary needs and areas for further development, and sharing experiences and knowledge. Ultimately, it provides strategic and technical analysis to ensure adherence to quality standards, in compliance with UNITAR’s mandate and UN guidelines.
