CIFAL Tbilisi

CIFAL Tbilisi was established in 2023 as a partnership between Europe Foundation and UNITAR with the vision of empowering civil society and local authorities in Georgia and the EaP region.

CIFAL Tbilisi aims at providing a range of learning opportunities and facilitating knowledge sharing between CSO representatives, public servants, and leaders in the region to strengthen capacities for good governance and sustainable development.

CIFAL Tbilisi focuses on the following thematic areas:

  • Economic Development
  • Social Inclusion
  • Youth Empowerment
  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Along with thematic areas CIFAL Tbilisi is working on, the Center is delving into the area of integration of modern technologies in the development process.

Ms. Ketevan Vashakidze

Ms. Ketevan Vashakidze is a senior executive with extensive international experience in social change focused organizations. She has held a variety of management, consulting and teaching positions both in her native Georgia, and internationally. Ms. Vashakidze has been heading Europe Foundation since February 2007, providing it with the vision, leadership and management. 

Ms. Vashakidze has consulted on various sustainable development issues governments, non-governmental organizations, the World Bank Group, UNDP in South-East Asia, UNICEF in NYC and Bolivia. She has chaired and been active on various public and non-profit boards, among them chairpersonship of GEF that promotes philanthropic work in Eastern Europe, and of the EFN that unites ten partner foundations and data-tanks from the US, Europe, and Eurasia.

Ms. Vashakidze holds advanced degrees in Social and Economic Geography, Environmental Management, and International Development from Columbia, Edinburgh, and Tbilisi State Universities. She obtained an EMBA in Global Management jointly issued by LSE, NYU, and HEC Paris and is currently pursuing an Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellowship at Harvard University.
