UN CC:Learn/UNITAR

13 March 2026, Geneva, Switzerland - Sport has always been about resilience, teamwork, and pushing limits. But today, sport faces one of its greatest challenges yet: climate change.

From extreme heat disrupting competitions to rising costs linked to logistics, infrastructure, and energy use, the climate crisis is already reshaping the way sport operates. At the same time, sport has an extraordinary power to inspire millions and drive positive change worldwide.

To help sports organizations and their staff respond to this challenge, UNITAR, through the UN CC:Learn initiative, is offering a unique online, on-demand training programme designed specifically for the sports sector:

Why this training matters

Climate change is increasingly affecting the world of sport, from extreme heat impacting athlete performance to storms damaging infrastructure and disrupting events.
