29 June 2020, Geneva, Switzerland,  The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) - Division for People and Barbara Harrison Media Inc. (BHM) have joined forces to produce podcast episodes dedicated to cover a wide variety of topics that both entertain and educate young listeners on sustainable development related topics. 

In addition, and as part of the UNITAR’s Division for People Initiative “1 Millon Youth Leaders” (1M2030),  the Institute will collaborate with BHM’s video production “Kids Speak Out” to provide a space for kids to speak about what’s going on in the world and share their experiences with other kids across the country and from around the globe.

Forming approximately 42% of the entire world population, youth are hardly ‘the future’, they are ‘the now’. In 2015, according to the World Population Prospects, 1.2 billion people were aged between 15-24 years, and it is predicted that this number will grow by 7% by 2030. Youth have the potential of being present changemakers, and not just symbolic of futuristic hope. UNITAR is pleased to work with BHM as a media partner for 1M2030 to amplify the voices of incoming changemakers in context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
