31 March 2023, Merida, Mexico - The Executive Director of CIFAL Merida in Mexico, Héctor Navarrete Muñoz, and the Director of the ITAérea Business School, Mr José Ignacio Escudero, sealed the extension for another 4 years of the partnership that has united these institutions since 2017.
In November 2017, the ITAérea Aeronautical Business School, CIFAL Merida (International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders) and UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) met for the first time at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, for the signing of the trilateral agreement whose objective has always been the development of comprehensive training in air transport that meets the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Already established in 2013, the collaboration agreement signed in Cancun (Mexico) between ITAérea and CIFAL Merida had allowed the training of 1,808 Latin American airport managers in the first year.
This commitment was renewed on May 16, 2018, when ITAérea hosted in Madrid the signing of the extension of the collaboration agreement between ITAérea Business School, UNITAR, and CIFAL Merida.
10 years after this historic year 2013, the alliance between these institutions is renewed by this agreement where ITAerea joins international universities to contribute with their experience to the network of 30 CIFAL Centres located around the world. These universities will have access to the training offered to specialize in the aeronautics and airport industry, standardizing skills and promoting the sustainable growth of the air transport industry for the benefit of all sectors involved.
